AWS Associate Architect Certification Lecture 1
Hello All,
Lets start with AWS(Amazon web services) associate architect certification exam preparation. I have divided the topics according to my lectures. And we will see the topics one by one
Agenda of today's lecture is about overall cloud infrastructure and AWS basics.
What is Cloud Computing?
Answer : Cloud computing is a service for on demand delivery of compute power, storage, database, applications and other resources through a cloud service platform via Internet with pay-as-you-go model.
Why everyone wants to use cloud now a days?
Answer: Suppose there is one small company who wants four different servers like application, Database, DNS, Ad servers. But for connectivity company also needs to buy routers, gateways, switches firewalls etc. But its a very small company so investment becomes very high. Also we should consider the time required for setup.
These initial expenses can be categorized into 2 types
a. CAPEX(Capital Expenditures) — Hardware cost
b. OPEX(Operating Expenditures) — 24x7 electricity, employee salaries, physical security of the servers etc.
If you consider big companies like apple, microsoft the CAPEX and OPEX becomes very high.
Here comes Cloud computing which will take care of all your CAPEX and OPEX. Cloud will take care of all the hardware maintenance and other expenses.
Temporary needs for hardware :
Suppose Some e-commerce company announces big annual sale. It will increase the server traffic 5 times than regular. so for limited time company requires more servers. But when sale ends company doesn't want these many servers. So here comes cloud to the rescue. Cloud will automatically increase the number of servers when company needs it and decrease the number of servers when company doesn’t need it. Effectively saving the CAPEX.
